What is the value of LinkedIn for the military community?

“

(pleasant music) - The value of LinkedIn for the military community is really getting connected to networks. So what happens is a lot of military folks are connected to other military folks, and that ends up resulting in a closed network. So military people, when they're transitioning, don't have the connections to the people that are in the civilian workforce. Their connections are mostly with people that are still serving, and really they need to get connected to the people that are in the civilian workforce so they can get their post-military job. LinkedIn helps people open their networks up, and then also it helps people get more information about the opportunities that are out there. Like people are going to understand which company they're going to go and work at, or what role they're going to do after the military. So having connections in the civilian workforce is definitely going to help with that, and LinkedIn can help do that. The other thing is is that once that they get, they find a job that they want or an opportunity that they want, it's getting connected to that opportunity through a referral or somebody that's already working there. So the value of LinkedIn is really getting connected to those networks.
