Job Overview
Staten Island-based non-profit organization is seeking an organized, media-savvy, talented writer with multi-tasking abilities to manage communications and public relations for a fast paced organization, including press outreach, social media strategy and digital media planning. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing all internal and external communications for the company, ensuring consistent and engaging content that best positions the organization for growth.
Responsibilities
The Manager, reporting to the CEO, will be primarily responsible for the following:
· Create informative and interesting press releases, press kits, newsletters, and related materials.
· Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all marketing materials including brochures, pamphlets, solicitations, directories, newsletters, and email blasts, working with full time Graphic Designer.
· Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build membership loyalty, brand awareness, and overall corporate identity.
· Create communication and marketing strategies for new programs, launches, events, and promotions.
· Work closely with Membership, Events and Economic Development VPs to lead outreach and messaging for respective initiatives.
· Supervise projects to guarantee all content is publication-ready.
· Coordinate SIEDC’s social media presence.
· Manage the organization’s website content, maintaining up to date and compelling information about upcoming programs and events.
· Conduct community outreach, fulfill speaking obligations and interact with local community leaders and elected officials.
Specific Job Knowledge, Skills and Other Requirements:
· Candidate must be articulate, affable, and comfortable with public speaking and must have exceptional writing skills.
· Candidate must be technically savvy with experience in social and digital media as well as MS Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, or related field required.
· Car and valid driver’s license required.
· Full time, in office position
Salary/Benefits:
· $60,000/year
· Medical/Dental/Vision coverage after probationary period.
