Position Overview

We are seeking dynamic, motivated talent to join the Orion team as an Assistant Associate, Investment – Social. Orion is responsible for creating and maintaining trade relationships and investment partnerships while collaborating closely with partner media agencies.

This entry-level position supports the Social Investment team with the preparation, maintenance, tracking, stewardship, and reconciliation of clients’ social media investments. The Assistant Associate will work closely with Associates, Specialists, and Managers to develop a foundational understanding of the social media landscape, media-buying processes, and Orion’s investment approach.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with data, and eager to build a career in media investment.


Responsibilities

  • Support the Social Investment team with the development, execution, tracking, and stewardship of clients’ social media investments.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the social media landscape, trade media, investment practices, and major social platforms.
  • Assist with tracking and maintaining media partnerships using Excel, internal databases, and other media-buying systems.
  • Enter and update campaign, financial, and investment data in spreadsheets, Prisma, and other designated platforms.
  • Review data for accuracy and promptly identify missing, inconsistent, or incorrect information.
  • Contact media partners and vendors to obtain campaign reports, invoices, delivery information, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with monitoring campaign pacing, performance, and delivery under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Support the monthly billing and reconciliation process by reviewing invoices, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Organize and maintain campaign documentation, media authorizations, insertion orders, reports, and related materials.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and campaign summaries for internal teams and agency partners.
  • Collaborate with Associates, Specialists, and Managers to address campaign-related questions and resolve operational issues.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to strengthen knowledge of social media investment.
  • Support the Social Investment team with special assignments and other projects as needed.
  • Recommend opportunities to improve the organization, accuracy, and efficiency of departmental processes and information.
  • Build positive working relationships with internal stakeholders, agency partners, and media vendors.


Required Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to use Excel to organize, review, and maintain data accurately.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow established processes and instructions while asking thoughtful questions when clarification is needed.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Demonstrated interest in social media, advertising, media investment, or digital marketing.


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Internship, academic, or professional experience in advertising, media, marketing, communications, finance, analytics, or a related area.
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms and their advertising capabilities.
  • Experience with Mediaocean Prisma or another media-buying or campaign-management platform is a plus.
  • Familiarity with media terminology, campaign reporting, billing, or reconciliation is helpful.
  • Energetic self-starter with a strong work ethic, integrity, curiosity, and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to learn about media negotiations, vendor relationships, and investment strategy.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to providing responsive, high-quality support.

The salary range for this position is posted below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee’s/applicant’s skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
