When
The Home Depot went public on Sept. 22, 1981, at $12 a share, no one could have guessed the incredible run this company had ahead.
It’s fitting that 45 years later, we unveiled a marker from the
Georgia Historical Society which pays tribute to our company’s founding in Atlanta. It was an honor to celebrate that legacy with the people who actually built it –
Arthur M. Blank, members of the Marcus family,
Ron Brill and Pat Farrah.
A lot has changed since our IPO, but the most important thing hasn’t: the culture our founders established remains the foundation of our business. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this milestone, with special thanks to
Crystal Hanlon for bringing us together and Arthur for his candid conversation with the incomparable
Ann-Marie Campbell.
