Mingzhen Lin reacted on thisSaddened to hear about the passing of my favorite professor at Brandeis. I had the privilege of working with him on my master’s final project before graduation. He was incredibly kind, patient, and generous with his time, and he always encouraged me to think deeper and do my best. Looking back, I truly don’t think I would be where I am today without his guidance. Thank you for your kindness, dedication, and the lasting impact you had on so many students, including me. Having taught with him ih the MKTYP, I saw firsthand how he poured his energy into student success and championed academic access. He brought a rare, contagious optimism to our shared work, treating every student with profound respect and ensuring underrepresented scholars had a seat at the table in STEM. It was an honor to be his colleague in that space. My heart goes out to his family and the entire MKTYP and Brandeis community mourning this monumental loss. I'm driven by a desire to deepen my technical expertise, broaden my perspective on emerging technologies, and increase my future impact on the industry. During my Meta journey, I've gained invaluable experience building products that connect billions of people. I'm grateful for the mentorship, friendships, and growth opportunities I've had at Meta, and I'm excited about what lies ahead. Sometimes the most rewarding path forward requires taking a step back to leap further.

Although it comes as a disappointment, I'm reframing it as a redirection rather than a roadblock. As a recent graduate of 2024, I'm now navigating the post-college job market after the conclusion of college placements. Despite this setback, I bring with me valuable experience gained from internships at Atlassian and Knackit, where I served as Software Engineering Intern. These experiences have sharpened my problem-solving skills and provided me with practical project experience. I firmly believe that given the opportunity, I can demonstrate my capabilities in just one interview. Therefore, I'm reaching out to this esteemed community for assistance. Mingzhen Lin liked thisMingzhen Lin liked thisHi all, unfortunately, the #amazon student programs informed me a few hours ago, my new graduate SDE offer has been postponed by 6 months. I also got a verbal offer from #tiktok last month. But TikTok also pauses all hiring processes now. My offer letter is stuck and it may also be rescinded. However, I will graduate from #cmu next week and have already applied for my EAD card starting in January. Since I'm an international student, I need to find a new job to maintain my OPT. I will get my master's degree from the CMU MCDS program. I interned at #snowflake #snowpark team as a software engineer in 2022 summer. Before coming to CMU, I worked at #bytedance (TikTok) in Beijing China for one year as a full-time backend engineer. If you have any openings for SDE roles, I'd love to get in touch.
