I know your time is valuable and I appreciate your consideration. For those who hadn’t heard, a little over a month ago I chose to opt for the Department of Energy’s deferred resignation program (DRP). I loved my time with the DOE Wind Energy Technologies Office, and the DRP was certainly not the way I wanted to leave. I have used the time since I went on leave to consider my personal and professional goals, undertake some training, and begin exploring possible next professional opportunities. As is true for so many of my former colleagues, I am seeking to continue applying my passion, time, and experience to solving problems related to climate change and the clean energy transition. I feel that it has never been more important to reaffirm my commitment to this effort, because issues like global warming and equitable energy access do not simply go away when ignored or when funding is arbitrarily cut. Here’s my ask: I am seeking remote or in-person roles preferably in the DC & Arlington region, but I am open to exploring opportunities in major northeastern cities like NYC, Boston, and Providence. I have a background in mechanical and aerospace engineering and have spent the last nearly 5 years managing federally funded R&D programs and projects related to wind energy manufacturing, operations & maintenance, and circular economy. I am also working towards formal project management certifications. I would love to find a role with a mission-driven organization that will benefit from my prior experience while also providing the opportunity to grow that experience in other areas, including with non-wind clean energy technologies, state and federal energy and climate policy, and more. Thanks in advance for any opportunities you may be aware of and can clue me in to, and wishing all my former colleagues the best of luck whether that continues to be with DOE or in a new role!

DX Gateway is a awesome product which improves Private VIF functionality and allows DX and TGW to play nicely together :) Until the introduction of DX gateway there was no way to allow Private VIFs to be connected to VPCs in any non-local regions - you were stuck with same-region connectivity. DX gateway allows a single private VIF to connect via a DX gateway to up to 10 VPCs in local and remote regions. Whats more .. you can have up to 50 Private VIFs per DX ... and each can be used with a DX gateway .. which means a single DX connection can communicate with up to 500 VPCs ... globally. Whats more ... when you involve Transit Gateways .. this can be increased further still!!! I'm uploading lessons as fast as I can, I want to make sure the quality is maintained and I include enough technical depth to melt brains :) I'm aiming for this month for completion ... and ill keep everyone updated. Williams sprinted 60 meters under fire through open terrain to provide TCCC to his team leader after he received enemy fire that shattered his femur and sent him tumbling into a canal full of water. SSgt Williams scooped him up, stabilized his leg, then carried the Marine 3 football fields to a medevac chopper. He then took charge of a combined U.S. and Afghani team who executed an attack over two miles of mountainous terrain toward friendly forces, killing Taliban the entire way. After 20 years with Baxter, it’s difficult to put into words what this journey has meant to me. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside incredibly talented, dedicated, and supportive colleagues—many of whom I’m proud to call friends. Together, we’ve navigated challenges, celebrated successes, and built something truly meaningful. I’m especially grateful for the collaboration, mentorship, and camaraderie I’ve experienced throughout the years. Each of you has contributed to my growth, both professionally and personally, and I will carry those lessons with me going forward. The Air Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the armed forces of the United States, shall have distinguished himself by meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. Awards may be made to recognize single acts of merit or heroism or for meritorious service. Award of the Air Medal is primarily intended to recognize those personnel who are on current crew member or non-crew member flying status which requires them to participate in aerial flight on a regular and frequent basis in the performance of their primary duties. However, it may also be awarded to certain other individuals whose combat duties require regular and frequent flying in other than a passenger status or individuals who perform a particularly noteworthy act while performing the function of a crew member but who are not on flying status. These individuals must make a discernible contribution to the operational land combat mission or to the mission of the aircraft in flight. Examples of personnel whose combat duties require them to fly include those in the attack elements of units involved in air-land assaults against an armed enemy and those directly involved in airborne command and control of combat operations. Involvement in such activities, normally at the brigade/group level and below, serves only to establish eligibility for award of the Air Medal; the degree of heroism, meritorious achievement or exemplary service determines who should receive the award. Awards will not be made to individuals who use air transportation solely for the purpose of moving from point to point in a combat zone.

The Arena
One of the biggest mistakes candidates make right now is assuming every open role is actually being hired for. In defense tech, there’s a lot of signal mixed with noise. Some roles are real. Others are posted for optics, pipeline building, or internal alignment that hasn’t happened yet. If you’re a candidate, learning to spot the difference can protect a lot of your time. Here are a few signals we look for at The Arena when a team is serious about hiring: Signals of a serious team: ⚙️ Technical depth early The first or second conversation includes a real technical discussion or mission problem. 👥 Leadership involvement Founders or senior leaders show up early in the process. ⏱ Fast feedback loops Follow-ups happen within 24–48 hours. Now compare that with some common noise indicators: 🔁 The evergreen role The job has been posted for months with no visible team growth. ❓ Vague success metrics No one can clearly define what success looks like in the first 90 days. 🐹 The interview hamster wheel 6+ interviews with no clear decision-maker. Bottom line For candidates: not every posting deserves your time. For founders: slow or unclear hiring processes send a signal to the market — whether you intend them to or not.
