⭐ How Come? For decades, PGA of America Members have been told to “trust the process,” yet the process always seems to benefit the same small circle at the top — not the 28,000 professionals who keep the golf industry moving. So here are two questions that deserve honest answers: --- 1️⃣ Why do Past Presidents receive perks that cost the PGA of America millions of dollars? Travel perks, event perks, hospitality perks, first-class treatment, access perks — the list goes on. These benefits may have made sense decades ago, but today: PGA Members are struggling dues and fees are increasing compensation hasn’t kept up with inflation retirees are barely scraping by and the Association keeps saying “there isn’t enough money” If that’s true, then why are Past Presidents still receiving benefits that drain the organization instead of supporting Members? Where is the justification? Where is the transparency? Where is the alignment with Member needs? --- 2️⃣ And why are Past Presidents automatically inducted into the PGA Hall of Fame? A Hall of Fame slot should represent: service innovation Member impact legacy meaningful contribution Yet for the past 50 years, very little has been done to improve: Member wages retirement pathways work/life balance health benefits financial security So why is “holding office” treated as “historic achievement”? Automatic induction isn’t recognition — it’s entitlement. And entitlement is exactly what is crushing Member trust today. --- If the PGA of America truly wants to restore credibility, it must rethink how leadership is rewarded — and start prioritizing the people who actually ARE the PGA of America: PGA Members. Perks should not come before people. Legacy should be earned, not assigned. And financial stewardship should favor the Membership, not the political class of past officers. It’s time for accountability. It’s time for transparency. It’s time for the PGA of America to put Members first — not last.
