Applications are OPEN for the 2027 Washoe County Leadership Academy! Are you looking for a meaningful way to grow your leadership skills, better understand your community, and expand your professional network? The Washoe County Leadership Academy (WCLA) is now accepting applications for its 2027 cohort through October 9, 2026. Now in its fifth year, WCLA is a free, six-month leadership and educational program offered in partnership with the University of Nevada, Reno Cooperative Extension. From January through June 2027, approximately 25 participants from across Washoe County will spend one Friday each month learning about local government, community services, leadership, and what makes our region unique.
