  • This week, TwinLogic Strategies was proud to organize a Washington fly-in for our client, the i2Coalition (i2C), bringing members to Capitol Hill for conversations on some of the most important policy issues affecting the internet. This is our 12th annual fly-in for the i2C.   Over two days, i2C members met with lawmakers, congressional staff, and Administration officials to discuss issues including Section 230, site blocking and other intellectual property issues, internet governance, privacy, cybersecurity, AI, and quantum readiness.   TwinLogic also facilitated a series of policy discussions with Hill staff featuring:   • Gregory Barnes on intellectual property issues • Chani Wiggins on issues before the Communications and Technology Subcommittee of House Energy and Commerce • Troy S. on privacy and FISA and a second panel on cybersecurity and quantum readiness   A highlight of the week was i2C’s presentation of its Champion of the Internet Award to Representative Lori Trahan, accepted on her behalf by Chief of Staff.   We’re grateful to everyone who participated and look forward to continuing our work to engage policymakers on the issues shaping the future of the internet.

SIIA President Chris Mohr testified before the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet during its hearing, "A Midlife Crisis? IP and the Internet After 40." In his testimony, Chris urged Congress to establish a clear, uniform federal framework for AI-generated digital replicas while refining the NO FAKES Act to avoid unintended consequences for software developers, online services, and lawful speech. He also discussed judicial site blocking as a potential tool to address foreign piracy, emphasizing that any legislative approach must include strong constitutional, technical, and procedural safeguards. As AI and the internet continue to reshape the digital economy, thoughtful policy is essential to protect innovation, intellectual property, and free expression. • Yesterday, members of our team, Lily Fortsch, Angelina Fournier, and Grace Hall, attended The Women's Tech & Telecom Partnership (WTTP) Summer Lunch & Learn. WTTP had an informative Fireside chat with Arielle Roth, Administrator of NTIA, and Former Senator Cory Gardner, President and CEO of NCTA, followed by a panel with senior legislative staff working on tech and telecom issues. We look forward to continued opportunities for professional development and discussions on the most pressing issues facing these industries today.

  • Last week, our intern, Diep Nguyen, finished her school-year-long internship at TwinLogic Strategies. During her internship, she drafted personalized hearing reports for clients and background memoranda for Hill meetings. Diep was an invaluable asset to our team, eagerly delving into AI and workforce issues. Our team will dearly miss the weekly motivational quotes she wrote on our office whiteboard! We wish her the best of luck in her next chapter as an intern on Capitol Hill this summer. She will be working for the offices of Senator Chuck Grassley and Congressman Zach Nunn, representing her home state of Iowa.

  • How do we protect consumers and support small businesses in the digital economy?   Last week, our client, the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI), brought that conversation to Capitol Hill, highlighting how data-driven advertising fuels small and medium-sized businesses nationwide - while underscoring the need for a strong, comprehensive federal privacy law.   Thanks to everyone who came out on a snowy Friday!

Each year, our members gather in Washington, D.C. for a series of face-to-face meetings with Congressional representatives and their staff to discuss the policies with the greatest impact on Internet infrastructure providers and the Internet itself. This year’s Fly-In took place in the middle of a federal government shutdown, which of course presented logistical challenges—but the strength of our relationships prevailed and we held many productive and informative meetings and panel discussions. This short video recap should give you a taste of what the Fly-In is like. https://lnkd.in/gE_nJv8H
