🎤 We’re excited to announce Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA as the keynote speaker for The Future of Healthcare Conference on October 7 at UC Irvine. As CEO of SCAN Group and Health Plan, Dr. Jain has spent his career at the intersection of medicine, public policy, innovation, and healthcare delivery. His perspective is especially timely as we ask: 💡 What will it take to build a healthcare system that is not only more innovative, but more humane, equitable, and responsive to the people it serves? Dr. Jain has held leadership roles across CMS, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, CareMore Health, Aspire Health, and Merck, and is the author of the forthcoming book, A Moral Alibi. We’re looking forward to a candid and thought-provoking conversation about where healthcare is headed, what needs to change, and what leadership will require in the years ahead. 📅 October 7, 2026 📍 Register https://lnkd.in/gS6CU7qW #FutureOfHealthcare #HealthcareInnovation #HealthEquity #Leadership Advance OC CHOC Children's

SCAN is excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Gabe Waterman, MD, MBA as its Chief Clinical Officer. “Health plans have traditionally viewed their clinical responsibility through the lens of paying claims, managing utilization and measuring quality after the fact... Dr. Waterman understands that improving health requires us to take greater ownership of whether our members receive the care they need. That starts with something as fundamental as connecting every member to a primary care provider, but it extends much further to how we support members during hospitalization, help them safely return home and intervene when they need more than what the traditional healthcare system can provide.” said SCAN CEO Dr. Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA. In his new role, Dr. Waterman will oversee SCAN’s clinical programs as SCAN makes a meaningful shift to taking greater ownership of the clinical outcomes for its members. His work will focus on advancing SCAN’s clinical strategy and evolving how a health plan can more directly improve the health and care experience of its members. Healthcare and Senior Housing have been disrupted. Today we are doing that by bringing them closer together. We’re serving the same person in separate systems and leaving older adults and their families to connect the pieces. People are living longer with more complex needs. Costs are becoming unsustainable. Our workforce is stretched. And too often, we all finally come together in the emergency room. We can do better than this. Today, The Springs Living and SCAN are taking a big step toward doing exactly that. We’re bringing together nearly 50 years of SCAN’s healthcare expertise with 30 years of what The Springs knows about how older adults actually live. One Team. In our communities, the person who notices Dad didn’t come to breakfast or simply isn’t himself should already know the healthcare professional who can act on it. That knowledge shouldn’t sit outside the healthcare system. Put those people together, in the place Dad calls home, and we have an opportunity to catch things earlier, prevent some crises and keep more older adults healthy and independent. That’s better for residents. Better for families. Better for our people. Better for hospitals. And potentially a much smarter way to spend healthcare dollars. What makes us especially excited is the partner we found. SCAN and The Springs Living are both mission-based organizations. Serving older adults is our life’s work. And neither of us can build this alone. We’re changing how we operate, putting our expertise together and investing alongside one another in the outcome. As Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA, SCAN CEO, put it: “You can’t change without changing.” Today we change. And there may be no better place to prove it than Oregon. This plan will serve more than 1,500 Springs Living homes in the Portland area. Today, Oregon families are watching healthcare become harder to access and navigate just as more older adults need support. While others are leaving the market, we’re investing deeper. Our concentration of communities here gives us the scale to put dedicated clinical resources alongside our teams and create something Sachin calls a “high-presence model.” Not healthcare somewhere else. Healthcare connected to where people actually live. This is also personal to Founder and CEO Fee Stubblefield. Thirty years ago, he saw a problem facing his grandmother Lillian and built what he thought should exist for her. Today, his dad, Fancho, lives in the memory care community at The Springs at Sherwood. His caregivers know things about him no chart ever will. The family has also gotten the call, before he moved to The Springs, and met him in the ER to spend three hours just to find out he was dehydrated. We can prevent that trauma and cost. We know how hard this system can be even when you have people around you who know how to navigate it. We want something better. And we believe every family deserves the same. https://ow.ly/LNcJ50ZQGml

🏘️ SCAN is announcing a new partnership with The Springs Living, LLC, a senior living organization serving communities across the Pacific Northwest. “Going to an emergency room for something that could have been prevented in our homes can be traumatic, especially as an older person. Our partnership with SCAN will disrupt that failed system for older adults by bringing healthcare to where people live by combining SCAN’s healthcare expertise, focused on prevention, with The Springs Living’s 30 years of building award winning environments to live and be supported as an older adult.” Said Fee Stubblefield, Founder and CEO of The Springs Living. The partnership marks SCAN’s expansion into Oregon’s Clackamas and Washington counties. In addition, SCAN and The Springs Living will launch co-branded products that will be available January 1, 2027, designed to closely connect healthcare with the day-to-day support older adults receive in senior living communities.
