Yesterday, President & CEO Chris Nelson attended the second annual #FordAccelerate summit in Detroit, where he joined leaders in a discussion about the challenges facing the skilled trades in our country and how we can all be part of the solution. The skilled trades are essential to our future, and we remain committed to helping the next gen of skilled professionals. #ForThoseWhoMakeTheWorld #Accelerate2026
The future of the skilled trades will be shaped by the actions we take now. Closing out the month at Ford Accelerate in Detroit, after also spending time in Shanghai for WorldSkills 2026, reinforced both the urgency of this challenge and the momentum behind it. I’m inspired by Jim Farley’s leadership around the Essential Economy and his ability to bring together leaders across industries to address the pressing challenges facing the skilled trades in our country. I was honored to join Dan Peyovich, President and CEO, Dycom Industries; Patti Poppe, CEO, PG&E Corporation; Dave Regnery, Chair and CEO, Trane Technologies and Dan Schulman, CEO, Verizon in a discussion with Diane Brady about how we can all be part of the solution. At Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. and DEWALT, we are committed to continuing to do our part.
