Scout Clean Energy

Some of the best vegetation management have four legs. Through agrivoltaics at Markum Solar Farm (161 MWac), sheep help naturally manage the landscape by grazing the land around the solar panels. This helps support healthy vegetation and the continuation of agricultural traditions at the site.

As part of our annual fall All-Hands Meeting last week, we set aside time for Volunteer Day, a chance for Scouts to step away from the office, come together as a team, and give back to our Boulder community. A big thank you to everyone who participated and to the organizations who welcomed us in. We’re proud to spend the day putting our values into action and giving back together as a Scout community.

We had a jam-packed All Hands Meeting this week at Scout Clean Energy! I appreciated getting to share reflections from 12+ years in renewable energy development along with our fantastic development leadership team on a panel. Our collective stories and experiences help us find creative solutions to the never-ending challenges we face in development, and I'm glad we can continue learning from each other. This week, we came together in Boulder for the fall edition of our bi-annual All-Hands Meeting, which is a valuable opportunity to connect with our colleagues, share progress from across the organization, and strengthen the collaboration that moves our work forward. During the week, we enhance our collaboration and community through a series of presentations and team-building activities all from our home base in beautiful Boulder.

Happy National Dog Day from Scout! Whether they’re joining meetings, patrolling our home offices, or reminding us when it’s time for a walk, our Scout pups have a way of making every day a little bit better. 

Last week, we wrapped up another amazing summer internship program, memorialized by each intern through their capstone presentations to the rest of the company covering all the things they worked on over the past 12 weeks. Thank you to our interns for the hard work, fresh perspectives, and energy you brought to Scout this summer. We truly enjoyed having you on the team and look forward to seeing what you do next! 

Golden skies and rolling hills make sunrises at our Gonzaga Ridge project in Merced County, CA hard to beat.

On Saturday, over 50 Scouts and friends-of-Scout rode in the final B Strong Ride, raising funds for integrative cancer care right here in Boulder. It was a hot one, with temperatures reaching around 100 degrees, but our team made it worthwhile, raising over $11,000. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out a tradition that has brought us together every year. Thank you to everyone who rode, donated, and cheered us on. We’re proud to be a part of a team working toward a great cause!
