No one told me at the start of my career that failure would turn out to be one of my best teachers. That came to mind during a recent conversation with our interns in New York. Their curiosity and our candid discussion reminded me that learning is a lifelong pursuit, and that growth usually comes from a willingness to take risks and get things wrong. We talked about what that looks like in practice: 1) You are either winning or learning. The only failure is a failure of learning. 2) The biggest obstacle to reaching your full potential is often your own self-doubt. I also shared something one of my mentors, Hubert Joly, told me years ago: life is like riding a bicycle. It's when you stop pedaling that you fall. Momentum matters more than direction. Keep moving, stay true to who you are, and the path reveals itself, even with some turns along the way. On National Intern Day, thank you to our interns for everything you are contributing across the company this summer. We are proud to be part of your professional journey. #NationalInternDay #RalphLauren

At Ralph Lauren, we’re in the dreams business. It’s been true since Ralph founded the Company nearly 60 years ago, building immersive worlds that invite people to step into their dreams. "What business are we in?" Ralph Lauren CEO Patrice Louvet says it's a question too few leaders ask. Defining Ralph Lauren as being in the "dreams business" changed how the company thought about growth—and led it to walk away from about $1 billion in revenue to protect the brand.
