The impact of a table goes far beyond the check. Every day, restaurants bring people together, support local economies, and contribute to our well-being. OpenTable has launched its 2026 Restaurant Impact Reports in the United States, the UK, Canada, Mexico, Germany and Australia, which takes a closer look at the important role restaurants play in our daily lives and the communities we live in. A few highlights from the US report: 🍴88% of US diners say local restaurants, bars, and cafes are key to building a sense of community 🍴60% of US diners have spent money at neighboring businesses before or after their meal, spending an average of $138 🍴84% of US diners say dining out locally boosts their personal and social wellbeing But when a guest doesn’t show, restaurants can lose revenue, food, and a chance to serve someone else. The report looks at the full picture: the value restaurants create every day, the challenges that can put that impact at risk, and the OpenTable tools to help mitigate them. Last week, we brought together Paris’ vibrant restaurant community for an unforgettable evening high above the city at Rooftop Nijinsky at Théâtre du Châtelet. 🥂✨ We gathered top restaurateurs to kick off the second edition of Les Dîners Ultimes—our festival celebrating Parisian bistronomie, where diners can sample exclusive menus through 27 September. It was a wonderful night of connection, paired with exquisite bites from Chef Thomas Cherbit and a show-stopping champagne tower by Moët & Chandon. A huge thank you to Nora Barault and the entire LGU - Le Guide Ultime team for your continued partnership in celebrating local gastronomy. Visiting or dining in Paris this week? Running a sharp operation takes more than good instincts. It takes the right data, the right partners, and space to talk honestly about margins. That was the spirit behind the third edition of the OpenTable Hospitality Summit in Mexico City, held under the theme Run Sharp at Espacio CDMX. Juan Luis Reed, General Manager for Latam & Caribbean, shared an overview of OpenTable's growth in Mexico. Isadora Dantas, Product Director, walked through how OpenTable is helping restaurants run sharper operations. Special thanks to our panelists Oswaldo Oliva, Germán González, Ricardo Ramírez, Gerardo Vázquez Lugo, Alejandra Navarro, and Lula Martín del Campo. See you next year at our fourth edition!

What makes an industry worth celebrating? The people who show up for it, year after year. That was the spirit behind the Melbourne Food & Wine Legends and Trailblazers Awards, which brought together Victoria’s hospitality community to honour the people, places, and stories that shape it. A special mention goes to our very own restaurant partner Hugh Allen of Vue de monde and Yiaga, who took home the Trailblazer Chef award. Congratulations, Hugh. 👏 OpenTable was proud to sponsor the evening and celebrate alongside our local team, COO Amy Wei, and SVP of Growth Laure Bornet in Melbourne. Our partnership with Melbourne Food & Wine reflects OpenTable’s long-term commitment to Australia’s hospitality community and to the people helping it thrive. Congratulations to every winner and nominee. You are the heartbeat of this industry. 🥂 Find the full awardee list here: https://lnkd.in/e99teCeJ

OpenTable is now part of OpenAI’s newest restaurant reservation experience in ChatGPT, helping diners discover restaurants from our network of more than 70,000 worldwide. We’re making it easier for diners to search for restaurants, check availability, compare options, and book a table, all within ChatGPT. This launch builds on our broader strategy to meet diners where they are and make restaurant discovery and booking feel more seamless, wherever the journey starts. For restaurants, it’s another way to show up in front of diners at the moment they’re ready to book, helping fill more tables. It’s one more example of how we’re investing in new ways to connect diners and restaurants, and helping shape what the future of dining discovery can look like.
