Behind Shapers and Founders is a dataset of more than 8,200 companies. The research narrowed that universe to 2,950 companies in Asia, then to the top 10% by long-term market capitalization growth. Within that group, founder-entrepreneur-led businesses accounted for ~45% of value creation. The question was no longer whether these businesses were outperforming, but why. To understand the difference, authors Gautam Kumra, Joydeep Sengupta, and Cheryl Lim went beyond the data, speaking directly with 30 of Asia’s extraordinary owner-CEOs. Their stories helped reveal six observable leadership behaviors that leaders everywhere can learn from. What makes a sports franchise valuable goes well beyond what happens on the field. Drawing on conversations with owners across a range of leading teams, David M. Rubenstein explores how leaders balance performance, culture, community, and long-term value. https://mck.co/4dIzRBu

Physical AI could unlock value far beyond the machines themselves. As autonomous systems move into warehouses, vehicles, factories, and more, the opportunity will come from how companies deploy and integrate them into real operations, improving productivity, quality, throughput, and customer outcomes. For leaders, that means focusing on three things: the tasks where physical AI can create the most value, what's needed to scale it, and where their company should play in the emerging ecosystem. https://mck.co/47rC4h2

The way we pay is changing. So is where the value in payments sits. After a decade of strong growth, global payments revenue growth is expected to moderate from 9 percent annually between 2020 and 2025 to about 4 percent through 2030. But that is only part of the story. Different payment rails are taking hold in different markets, and more transactions are moving quietly into the software we use every day. Our 2026 Global Payments Report looks at what these changes could mean for the industry, and where banks and payment providers may need to focus next. https://mck.co/4jpwIKw

The global energy system no longer has a single “most likely” future. Back-to-back gray swan events, including COVID-19, the Russia-Ukraine war and the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, have widened the range of plausible outcomes. This year’s edition of the Global Energy Perspective explores five energy scenarios to help businesses stress-test strategies, preserve options and identify the signals that should trigger a change in direction. https://mck.co/4iSRkus

Passengers may never see the journey to digital transformation, but they notice when it works. At LATAM Airlines, more than 90% of changes, refunds, and check-ins now happen automatically, while contact rates have dropped 60% as customers leverage digital self-service tools. Behind that shift, LATAM rewired its technology and operating model to make the passenger experience simpler and give teams more speed and flexibility. https://mck.co/3U04o79

Strategy has traditionally started with the industry you’re in. But when new sources of growth can cross industry boundaries and reshape where value is created, that lens can miss where the next competitive pressure is coming from. The result is a different strategic lens—one that looks beyond traditional industry lines. https://mck.co/4xSYYsz

AI is moving beyond individual tasks to execute work across digital and physical environments. That raises a bigger question for organizations: what should humans, AI agents, and intelligent robots each do? The emerging “symbiotic enterprise” offers a new model for how they can work together. https://lnkd.in/ej4CPamb
AI is evolving from a tool that supports work to systems that can increasingly execute it.
