Helping life science companies educate, engage, and explain through emerging technology.

About us

Lucid Dream is an applied video game studio. We help organizations in medical, scientific, and technical industries leverage emerging technology to transform the way they market, engage, train, and explain. Inspired by games, our solutions emphasize interactive education through purposeful play. Our content is experienced on a variety of platforms (VR/AR/XR, tablet, mobile, touchscreen, desktop, web), and is designed to capture attention, maximize engagement, improve recall, and personalize learning. Our office is located in North Carolina's Research Triangle Region in the American Tobacco Historic District.

After a five-minute XR simulation, 76% of HCPs said they felt significantly more confident in their understanding of our customer's therapy. I love this data point for two reasons. First, five minutes isn't much time. Pharma and medtech teams have brief windows to educate HCPs, especially at a busy medical congress.  This shows just how much you can accomplish with that time when the experience is built well. Second, think about the audience. These are specialists whose careers are built around knowing their field.  Getting an expert to say their understanding “significantly improved” means you taught them something meaningful, sparked curiosity, and earned their respect in a very short amount of time. That isn't easy to accomplish. But after nearly 400 XR projects at Lucid Dream, we've learned how to turn a few minutes of attention into better understanding. That’s what we’re helping life science teams do. Curious what five minutes could do for your audience? Let's talk: https://lnkd.in/e9f77keq

Moments like these remind us why we do this work. In 2025, we guided 5,000+ HCPs through the human body without touching a patient. This year, we aim to triple that number by letting clinicians step inside the human body, observe disease pathophysiology and drug mechanisms up close, and work with 3D digital twins of medical devices. XR, smartglasses, and spatial computing make these experiences possible. They give us new ways to present complex science and help learners understand what’s happening beneath the surface. The technology may look futuristic, but it’s already here and ready to support how you share science and evidence with your customers. Want to explore what this could look like for your team? Across every medical congress we attended last year, our educational XR experiences led to interactions 4-5x longer than standard videos. That pattern held across therapeutic areas, and especially with residents and fellows. The next generation of physicians are hungry for new ways to learn, and they light up when complex or abstract science becomes a hands-on, interactive learning experience. We hear the same feedback each time at Lucid Dream: “I wish we learned this way in med school.” “My colleagues need to see this too.” “Could you share this experience at our clinic?” For teams working to connect their science with the next generation of clinicians, immersive technology could become one of your most powerful tools for modern medical education. Early prototype as seen through an Apple XR device: a digital twin aligns with a physical anatomical model during testing. Once the digital layer settles into place, new possibilities open up. Holographic overlays can provide personalized, contextual feedback in 3D space. Then we can add scenario-based learning modules to practice with. Learners intuitively understand what they’re looking at much more quickly, and remember what they learn more vividly. At Lucid Dream, we’ve only begun to explore the range of new possibilities this enables for hands-on medical education. Wearable display tech like smartglasses and spatial computing are advancing so quickly, sometimes I have to step back to fully appreciate just how much progress we’re witnessing. Most people know Lucid Dream for our VR and interactive work. What they don’t see is what happens behind the camera. Here’s a look at how we helped SK pharmteco bring their brand story to life. The same thoughtful planning, creative problem-solving, and collaboration that drive our immersive projects guided this production from start to finish. The result has already reached more than 80,000 views, a big number in B2B life sciences! Whether it’s VR, touchscreens, or video, we build experiences people remember. We’ve been testing something new at Lucid Dream: a shared virtual environment where real hands and tools move together in real time. It’s easy to see the impact this could have on life science training and medical device simulation, but we’re just as interested in the less obvious applications. Imagine global teams training together virtually, providing remote support to clinicians, or practicing workflows before stepping onsite. If you work in medical education, device training, field sales, clinical simulation, or manufacturing, what kinds of challenges could this help solve? We’re still early in development and open to ideas from every direction. Drop a comment or book a time to talk about your idea: https://lnkd.in/eHf4dHSR We’d love to hear your perspective👇

We hear this a lot: “We want something different at our congress booth, but don’t know what.” That’s exactly why we built the Concept Discovery Sprint. When commercial teams understand the engagement lift they could get by adding interactive tech, the first reaction is excitement. The second is uncertainty. There’s enthusiasm for the idea, but no clear path to bring it to life. The Concept Discovery Sprint gives teams a focused, collaborative way to explore an idea before committing to full production. The process moves quickly (4-6 weeks). We talk with stakeholders, demo lots of tech, whiteboard and sketch ideas, then debate their potential. Then we outline several project paths with clear timelines and pricing so teams can choose the direction that best fits their goals. By the end, teams walk away with a confident plan for how an interactive layer could drive more traffic, deepen engagement, and differentiate their booth at their next medical conference. At Lucid Dream, we’ve seen how much confidence and momentum this step brings. As teams plan for 2026, this is the perfect time to start thinking about ways to elevate next year’s booth.
