At just 1 pound, 1 ounce, Matilda “Tilly” Hill began a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) journey that would make her known as the 👑 “Queen of the NICU” at 🏥 HCA HealthONE Rocky Mountain Children’s Hospital. Born at 25 weeks — more than three months before her due date — Tilly spent nine months in the hospital’s NICU. Her care was complex, requiring specialized support from neonatologists, nurses, respiratory therapists and many others working together to help her grow stronger. Two years after leaving the hospital, Tilly returned for a special reunion with Dr. John Ross, the first physician to care for her, and other members of the team who supported her through her earliest days. Today, Tilly is 20 months old and thriving. She is social, chatty, loves music and enjoys keeping up with her proud 3-year-old big brother. “I want people to know that the NICU is a place just where miracles truly happen every single day,” Tilly’s mom, Anna Hill, shared. As we wrap up #NICUAwarenessMonth, Tilly’s story offers another look at the clinical expertise, compassion and coordinated care provided across HCA Healthcare’s 90 NICUs. To our colleagues who care for our tiniest patients and support families through NICU journeys — thank you . ❤️ #HealthierTomorrows

#ICYMI CBS News correspondent Steve Hartman was recently “On the Road” to HCA Healthcare’s Chippenham Hospital to meet an extraordinary pair of physicians we featured this past summer: identical twin brothers Drs. Travis and Travan Jasper, co-medical directors of the emergency department at the HCA Virginia Health System facility. Their journey has taken them from growing up in Richmond, Virginia, to medical school and careers in emergency medicine — and ultimately back home to care for the community that helped shape them. Together, they help lead emergency care at 🏥 Chippenham Hospital, a Level I Trauma Center and Level I Burn Center serving patients across Central Virginia. For more than two decades, the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund has been there for colleagues and their families when they need it most. 💙 Since 2005, the colleague-run, colleague-supported 501(c)(3) charity has provided over $132 million in assistance to more than 52,000 HCA Healthcare colleagues and their families facing unexpected hardships. During Hope Fund Week 2026, we’re spotlighting the story of Bill Boeheim and the impact of colleagues helping colleagues. Bill works in guest services at the front door of the emergency room at HCA Healthcare’s Mission Health 🏥 in Asheville, North Carolina. Each night, he helps loved ones find their family members, answers questions and offers reassurance during some of their most stressful moments. After undergoing two open-heart surgeries, Bill learned he needed a third operation. A human resources colleague encouraged him to apply for the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund. “Every shift, I’m there to help people in times when they need the most,” Bill said. “When I needed the help the most, the Hope Fund was there for me.” The assistance Bill received provided support while he was away from work for two and a half months, allowing him to focus on his recovery and health. 🧡 Discover Bill’s story and the impact of the HCA Healthcare Hope Fund: https://lnkd.in/ewAzgvD9. #HCACares #OurHopeFund #CareLikeFamily

HCA Healthcare’s Expert Voices blog series features physicians advancing care through clinical expertise, research and innovation — including Dr. John Day, a cardiac electrophysiologist at 🏥 St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, who is helping shape a new era of care for atrial fibrillation, or AFib. AFib is the most common heart rhythm disorder, affecting millions of Americans and significantly increasing the risk of stroke, heart failure and dementia. As one of the largest providers of cardiac ablation and electrophysiology care in the U.S., HCA Healthcare has extensive experience treating patients with heart rhythm disorders. Dr. Day has spent more than 25 years treating heart rhythm disorders and has been involved in researching pulsed field ablation since before the technology received FDA approval. As HCA Healthcare’s physician director for electrophysiology and former president of the Heart Rhythm Society, he has helped advance the field through decades of clinical care, research and leadership. “Nothing has had a bigger impact on the lives of our AFib patients than pulsed field ablation,” Dr. Day says. During #AFibAwarenessMonth, Dr. Day shares the warning signs and advancements in treatment, including pulsed field ablation, which is making AFib treatment faster, safer and more effective for many patients. Across HCA Healthcare, our growing network of freestanding emergency rooms (FSERs) is expanding access to potentially life-saving care in the communities we serve. An FSER is a self-contained facility located within 30 miles of the acute care hospital to which it is linked, helping connect patients to the broader resources of our network when additional care is needed. 🏥 Each year, approximately 10 million patients receive emergency care in an HCA Healthcare emergency room. By thoughtfully investing in FSERs, we’re bringing high-quality emergency care closer to more communities while connecting patients to the clinical expertise, services and resources available across our network. Expanding our network also helps expedite the patient experience from the first point of care. “As soon as a patient steps into one of our FSERs, they’re automatically in our network,” said Jeffin Dejanovich, assistant vice president of emergency services at HCA Healthcare. “That’s a big benefit, as they can be connected to the resources they need after getting treatment or being stabilized, whether that’s surgery, admission or a follow-up visit after discharge.” From emergency treatment and stabilization to surgery, hospital admission and follow-up care, this connected approach helps our teams deliver coordinated care across a patient’s healthcare journey. At just 36, HCA Virginia Health System patient Chris Rose was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, also known as AFib, after seeking care for a lingering cough. With a heart rate at 180 beats per minute, he was told to go to the hospital immediately. Chris received advanced cardiac care at HCA Healthcare’s 🏥 CJW Medical Center in Virginia, where a cardiac electrophysiologist performed an electrical cardioversion to restore his heart’s regular rhythm. A few days later, he underwent a catheter ablation. With support from his care team and a commitment to cardiac rehabilitation, nutrition changes and regular exercise, Chris made significant strides in his recovery. He lost 100 pounds, is now off heart medication and continues to stay active and prioritize his health. ❤️ “He is a cardiac rehab superstar,” said Sandra Rogers, his cardiac rehab coordinator. During #AFibAwarenessMonth, Chris’ story highlights why awareness matters. AFib is the most common type of irregular heart rhythm and affects more than 10.5 million people in the U.S., according to the American Heart Association. If left untreated, AFib can increase the risk of stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. Read Chris’ full story, highlighted by the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association, to see how timely advanced cardiac care and dedicated rehabilitation helped transform his heart health: https://bit.ly/4Aj3TFO. #AFibAwarenessMonth #HealthierTomorrows

For seven months, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at 🏥 St. David's Medical Center in Austin, Texas was Leni Henrickson’s home. Three years later, she walked back through the hospital doors for a joyful reunion with the care team who once cared for her through some of her earliest and most critical days. Before Leni was born, she was diagnosed with congenital diaphragmatic hernia (CDH), a rare condition that can cause a baby’s abdominal organs to move into the chest and prevent the lungs from developing normally. According to the National Institutes of Health, CDH affects about 2.5 out of every 10,000 births. At just 6 days old, Leni underwent surgery to repair the hernia. What followed was a seven-month journey in the hospital’s NICU as her care team helped her gain the strength to breathe, eat and ultimately go home. That level of complex care is possible because St. David’s Medical Center is home to a Level IV NICU — the highest level of neonatal care — with specialized teams equipped to care for some of the most critically ill and medically complex newborns. For Leni’s mom, Sheryl, the expertise of that team was matched by the way they surrounded her family with support. “We just felt so supported and so cared for...we feel so blessed that she is where she is today, and I think I attribute a lot of that to the care that she received early on and the ongoing care that we still get today,” she said. During #NICUAwarenessMonth, we’re recognizing the clinical expertise, compassion and coordinated care our teams provide across HCA Healthcare’s more than 90 NICUs — supporting our smallest patients and the families who spend days, weeks or months by their side. #HealthierTomorrows | St. David's HealthCare
