The people behind our properties are what make MCRI exceptional. Today, we're recognizing Executive Pastry Chef Kayline Johnson, who has spent nearly 15 years at Atlantis Casino Resort Spa. A graduate of the Western Culinary Institute, Kayline and her team create the breads, pastries, desserts and gelato enjoyed throughout the resort's restaurants and special events. Kayline has been recognized as Pastry Chef of the Year by the High Sierra Chefs Association in 2015, and Woman of Achievement by the Nevada Women’s Fund in 2018. Her passion, creativity and commitment to excellence help create memorable dining experiences for our guests every single day. Here's what makes Hunger Action Month different: there isn't one "right" way to participate. Throughout the month, volunteers, donors, advocates, businesses, and community members come together to raise awareness about hunger and help ensure our neighbors have access to nutritious food. Here are some of the ways you can get involved: 🧡 Join us for lunch and a behind-the-scenes tour of the Food Bank on September 17 and see how food moves through our warehouse and into communities across our region. 🧡 Support Northern Nevada Bites Back, featuring local businesses including Yogurt Beach, Batch Cupcakery, Great Basin Brewing, Liberty Food & Wine, and Overland Restaurant. 🧡 Look for orange throughout the community, including at Circus Circus from September 1-9 and the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa fountain on Hunger Action Day, September 29. 🧡 Wear orange on Hunger Action Day on September 29 and share why helping end hunger matters to you! 🧡 Volunteer, donate, advocate, or host a virtual food drive. Even though the way we take action may be different, we have one shared purpose because no one can tackle hunger alone. Learn more about how you can take action this September: bit.ly/FBNN-HAM
