  • Strengthening the manufacturing foundation for hypersonic and solid rocket motor systems Albany Engineered Composites has been awarded a new $21.2 million contract through the U.S. government's Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program for Strengthening America's Manufacturing and Defense Industrial Base (SAMDIB). The effort supports development of carbon-carbon composite thermal protection systems (TPS) for hypersonic vehicles and solid rocket motors and is focused on establishing vertically integrated production capacity for full-scale TPS. This is about more than material development. It is about building the manufacturing capability, infrastructure and production processes needed to support hypersonic and solid rocket motor systems at scale. Albany will leverage proven advanced composite solutions, including: • 3D-woven, near-net-shape preforms • Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) • Carbon-carbon densification • Advanced machining and inspection capabilities • Production-focused manufacturing infrastructure The program brings together advanced materials and scalable manufacturing to address a critical challenge for hypersonic and solid rocket motor systems: delivering extreme-environment performance while establishing repeatable, production-ready manufacturing capability. This is where advanced composites can make a difference - not just by enabling performance, but by helping build the industrial capacity required to deliver that performance at scale. Albany is proud to contribute to strengthening America's defense industrial base and advancing the next generation of hypersonic and solid rocket motor manufacturing. • 𝗔𝗹𝗯𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗽. 𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗡𝗬𝗖 (Sept. 20-27) Albany International’s Anna Yates, Global Sustainability & EHS Leader, joined Watershed’s Summit during Climate Week NYC to share Albany’s perspective on the growing importance of energy management and the opportunity to align business and environmental goals. Anna says:   “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘰𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘨𝘺 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘦𝘹𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵. With 25 facilities and energy data historically spread across multiple systems, bringing that information together in a meaningful way is an important part of turning strategy into action. Albany International is continuing to work with Watershed to bring energy, cost and environmental impact data together, helping our teams evaluate opportunities, prioritize investments and build a more coordinated approach across the organization. This includes gaining greater visibility into how potential projects, such as HVAC replacements and on-site energy generation, compare across key metrics. We appreciate the opportunity for Anna to share this work at Climate Week NYC and contribute to an important, practical conversation about addressing energy challenges while advancing both business and environmental goals. #AlbanyInternational #Watershed #ClimateWeekNYC #ClimateWeek #Sustainability #EnvironmentalHealthAndSafety #EnergyManagement #EnergyEfficiency

  • We’re live at CAMX 2026. Let’s talk about taking advanced composites from technology to production. The next generation of composite aerostructures and components will not be defined by material performance alone. They’ll be defined by how efficiently, repeatably and economically they can be manufactured at production scale. At Albany Engineered Composites, we combine advanced composite architectures, process technologies, and engineering and manufacturing expertise to help customers move from composite design and development to production-ready, scalable manufacturing. At CAMX 2026, we’re showcasing the composite technologies behind that approach: 🔹 Design for Manufacturing (DFM) - Integrating engineering and manufacturing considerations early to optimize composite designs for manufacturability, repeatability and production rate 🔹 3D-Weaving - Highly integrated architectures engineered for structural performance, part consolidation and scalable production 🔹 Braiding / Over-Braiding - Complex fiber architectures which optimize load paths, solve for complex geometries and enable high-rate production 🔹 Filament Winding - Precision fiber architectures for cylindrical and complex composite components that maximize strength-to-weight ratios 🔹 Out-of-Autoclave (OOA) Processing – Scalable production-focused curing process approaches designed to reduce manufacturing complexity and capitalization costs, while supporting high volume composite production demands 🔹 Autoclave Processing – Legacy, high-performance composite curing process for demanding structural applications across a wide range of material systems 🔹 Metal Replacement Solutions - Lightweight composite aerostructures replacing legacy aluminum and titanium components 🔹 High-Temperature Composites - Advanced materials and manufacturing capabilities for extreme thermal environments across propulsion, hypersonic and defense applications Why does this matter? Because moving composites into the next generation of aerospace, defense, space and advanced mobility applications requires more than proving a composite can perform. It requires a manufacturing strategy capable of delivering repeatable quality, scalable processes and production at rate. That is where Advanced Composite Solutions from Albany Engineered Composites come together - connecting materials, architecture, process engineering and manufacturing expertise to solve complex composite production challenges. If you're at CAMX, come talk composites with us. Visit Albany Engineered Composites at Booth K26 to discuss 3D-weaving, braiding, OOA processing, industrialized composite manufacturing, DFM and other technologies for your next composite application. 📍 Georgia World Congress Center | Atlanta, GA 📅 Sept. 22–24, 2026 📌 Booth K26 #CAMX2026 #CAMX #AdvancedComposites #CompositeManufacturing #3DWovenComposites #3DWeaving #BraidedComposites #OutOfAutoclave #OOA #ResinTransferMolding #DesignForManufacturing

  • 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲  Guided by our Waste Hierarchy Model, we're advancing circularity through material reuse, recycling partnerships, and innovative end-of-life solutions. Today, scrap materials from our operations are being repurposed into products such as plastic furniture, textile yarn, and reinforced concrete. These efforts are part of a broader sustainability strategy that helps create value for our customers while aiming to reduce environmental impact. By designing with circularity in mind, improving operational efficiency, and finding new uses for materials that might otherwise become waste, we're making progress toward our goal of zero waste to landfill in the Americas and Europe by 2030. Innovation has been at the core of Albany International for more than 130 years—and it continues to drive how we rethink waste, resources, and the future of sustainable manufacturing.
