Portola, Pathways & Possibilities🪩 🌟 🎶 At Portola Music Festival 2026, AEG Presents and Goldenvoice welcomed participants to our College Connection Program, creating opportunities for mentorship, networking, career exploration, and real-world hiring. The day kicked off with a behind-the-scenes look at the festival led by Tim Le, Director of Festival Operations, who shared what it takes to bring a large-scale event like Portola to life. Participants also toured The Midway with Ian Molly, gaining additional insight into venue operations and the many career paths that exist throughout the live entertainment industry. Students and young professionals then connected with leaders from across AEG Presents and Goldenvoice during an engaging panel discussion focused on career journeys, industry trends, and the countless opportunities available in operations, production, marketing, partnerships, sales, and community engagement. The learning didn't stop there. Attendees participated in speed mentoring sessions with professionals from merchandise, partner activations, sales, marketing, and production teams, while AEG Presents' HR team provided individualized résumé reviews to help participants prepare for the next step in their careers. The most exciting part? 🎉 Thirteen participants secured employment opportunities with the Portola Music Festival team in Box Office, Guest Services, and Marketing roles. Many others connected with internship, mentorship, and professional development opportunities that will continue long after festival weekend. As Twana Simmons, DEI Business Partner at AEG Presents, shared, helping students and emerging professionals gain direct access to industry leaders, practical experience, and pathways to employment is exactly what College Connection is all about. A huge thank you to our partners at the City of San Francisco and Non Plus Ultra, as well as every team member who invested their time and expertise to help inspire the next generation of live entertainment professionals. 🎶 Here's to opening doors, building connections, and creating pathways into an industry we love.
