In #12966 (comment), @turt2live was able to restore from backup but got confusing progress UX along the way:

Stared at this for minutes:

Is the loading screen expected and should it be taking a while? Wallclock time says 5 minutes, no obvious errors in logs.

If I recall correctly, there should be some progress info in the dialog, but maybe it's being skipped for this path for some reason...?
