Make the js-sdk migrate from asymmetric SSSS encryption to new symmetric SSSS. This will add an extra couple of cases to the bootstrapping process for the user having a trusted and untrusted asymmetric SSSS store, so I think the bootstrapping process will resemble:

  • User has trusted symmetric SSSS: 🎉
  • User has untrusted symmetric SSSS: prompt for passphrase to trust
  • User has trusted asym SSSS: prompt for SSSS passphrase to migrate
  • User has untrusted asym SSSS: prompt for SSSS passphrase to trust and migrate
  • User has key backup: prompt for key backup passphrase to migrate
  • User has nothing: prompt user for new passphrase
