It might just be a typo since Sicily was used in the Japanese cast list.

didn't know it was a same day dub...I just watched the sub, and so far I am not impressed and don't see the point of making this an Isekai. Just make a normal fantasy...that's one reason I loved Goblin Slayer so much, no Isekai nonsense

Well, it wasn't dying and waking up in a new world, but Kakuriyo is technically an Isekai, as well as Restaurant to Another World. All that makes and Isekai is going to another world, aside from your own. Other shows with female leads that are isekai include Inuyasha, Escaflowne, Magic Knight Rayearth, Meiji Tokyo Renka, etc. It is just common lately for male characters to die in the real world and re-incarnate in another world, but that isn't really the only way to be isekai. Isekai literally means "Another World", not "died and reincarnated in another world." They probably just don't use the death and re-incarnation theme that happens with many male protagonists in isekai because it is mostly considered more brutal when it happens to a female.

I saw that on the episodes, also, but there was never an option for it, so it seems like it was something mistakenly added for some reason.

Episode 2 was much better than episode one, but the noble's son seems like a villain ripped straight out of SAO...specifically the two rapey dudes from Alicization.
I'm not sure what the entire thing about Sicily trying to "use" Shin was all about. Obviously she was trying to use his talents to help herself, but she wasn't doing it at the expense of Shin and wasn't being especially manipulative. She asked for help, he provided it, so I'm not sure what the problem there is, considering her motivations were always sincere.
I'll have to say, I hate Chichi so much that I am starting to have a little bias against Melinda, just because she sounds exactly like Chichi.
Also I could tell that Julius von Littenheim is voiced by Jarrod Greene

@HOOfan1 It's more of how she felt then anything else. Also grand ma melinda could see that it was weighing her down and such. So that's why she had to get her to admit what was going on. Some of the stuff is better explained in the manga and such. But mainly it was to show how great of a person Sicily is in general. Since she would never want to really use shin in general or get him hurt thru something she is involved with. But she kinda forgot to think about how shin would feel or what he wants.

It's not really changed. It is still the same name, just spoken the German way. The show's fantasy world does seem to have a Germanic feel to it.

@Ragnawind Sorry but if you look at most translations, it should be sicily von claude. Also other character names are more italian then anything else. Even her best friend is maria von messina. Both maria and messina are italian in origin. The only thing i think they sorta got this from is some of the words that germans might have taken or incorparated into their language when the germanic tribes had control over italy back during the Gothic Franks era of when that part of the roman empire collapsed. Only excuse i can see.

"von" is a German preposition for nobility, which is why her name is pronounced as if it's German. August and Maria weren't changed because those names are the same in both English and German
I think whatever translations you've read before didn't realize "von" was a German identifier and simply translated "Shichiri" into English (Sicily) instead of considering it a name in German (Sizilien). So technically speaking, assuming the original creator wrote the names to be German, Funimation fixed the mistakes of earlier translations

The series is set in a fantasy world, and manga/LN authors have a tendency to mix up words from different Western languages. I'd say it's more likely that the author just wanted the names to sound Western, not specifically German.
Sicily and Messina are both names of Italian locations. Messina is an Italian last name. Yet, the character is Maria von Messina?
Seems to me more like the author is just mixing different Western languages together.

Yes, they are. August has a French origin, for example, and the setting uses architecture that isn't generally definable but nonetheless looks European, if not English
That's part of the reason why translation is often difficult to capture the original spirit of a work, because you have a character's name, written in Japanese, with German surnames and Italian/French given names, which are being translated into English. There's a couple of different ways to go about translating the name, such as making the given name respective of their surname origin. Translating the given name into English (such as Sicily), while technically correct in an English translation, happens to also least represent the author's intent of blending European identifiers together. So it makes sense to change one name to the German Sizilien when the other "von" names, technically speaking, are already translated into German - August and Maria
All that said, Funimation probably doesn't care THAT much about changing a character's name to better represent the spirit of a show like this, so the most likely scenario is that the publisher requested the name to be properly translated to its original intent, to which they obliged
