Web & UI Developer (JavaScript & j Query)
HostGator is seeking an outstanding web and user interface developer to join our Development Team. Our web developers work closely with our project managers to create major and minor web applications and components for internal and external use. Enhancements and fixes to existing and new web applications will be required on an ongoing basis. Best practices and design methods will be utilized to ensure the success of projects. Programming and the basics of graphic design are elements of this position. Flexibility, adaptability and the capability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work on tight deadlines, are key attributes of this individual. Responsibilities:
- Operate effectively as a member of the development team
- Operate effectively as an individual for quick turnaround of enhancement and fixes
- Work closely with project managers and other members of the Development Team to develop
- detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure
- timely completion of said deliverables
- Communicate with Project Manager efficiently on progress and/or delays
- Responsible for the development of web applications and components
- Effectively develops in a clean, well-structured, easily maintainable format
- Demonstrates creative, technical and analytical skills
- Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively in both technical and business environments
Required Skills and Experience:
- Experience in developing websites and/or web applications
- Minimum of 3 years of web design and development experience is required with an emphasis in PHP and JavaScript
- Solid understanding of navigation and GUI for maximizing usability
- Front-end and some back-end experience. More important is the experience of seamless
- integration of front-end to back-end functionality
- Practical experience in development of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP. Further experience in MySQL queries and Perl is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Desire and willingness to work in a collaborative, innovative, flexible and team-oriented
- environment
- BS/BA University degree a plus but not required
