Cern will participate to Expo Milano 2015. Science and future meet the biggest challenge of 2015

CERN will participate to Expo Milano 2015. After the UNO, the Organization for Nuclear Research in Geneva is the second international institution to confirm its presence at the Universal Exposition in Milan. With this adhesion, the number of Official Participants at Expo Milano 2015 rises to 92.

“ The adhesion of CERN, research center of excellence – stated Mr. Giuliano Pisapia, Special Commissioner of the Italian Government for Expo Milano 2015 -, demonstrates the interest of important international organizations in Expo Milano 2015, its contents and its innovative challenge”.

Author of the Higgs boson discovery, CERN is one of the most authoritative scientific organizations in the world. For Expo Milano 2015 CERN will realize a project to show visitors the positive effects that lots of its technologies, developed in these years, have on the agriculture. 

“I’m sure that – added Mr. Pisapia – other important scientific institutions will take part in 2015 event. In this way, Milan will be the center of the world debate aimed to find solutions for the strategic issues of food and sustainability. In these sense, the positive effects of CERN discoveries on agriculture, nutrition and meteorology are an important preliminary remarks”.

The General Commissioner for Expo Milano 2015, Mr. Roberto Formigoni, is satisfied with the CERN adhesion. “The participation of CERN to Expo Milano 2015 is welcoming. CERN is the second international organization having decided to take part in the biggest event of 2015. The adhesion of the Organization – explained Mr. Formigoni – demonstrates that this Universal Exposition will be an important occasion of knowledge, research and innovation that will involve high-profile names of the scientific world”.
