Maxim Weinstein, President & Executive Director
@maximweinstein

Maxim Weinstein has been leading StopBadware since 2007. He is a regular speaker and panelist on topics related to end user and website security. He also serves on numerous cross-industry working groups and on the Massachusetts Educational Technology Advisory Council. In 2009, he was recognized by SC Magazine as one of the year’s “information security luminaries.”

Prior to joining StopBadware, Maxim worked in a variety of positions involving technology, communications, education, and leadership across a range of industries. Most recently, he served as technology director and national management team member of Year Up, a Fast Company Social Capital Award winner.

Maxim is a graduate of Tufts University, from which he earned a master’s degree in teaching and a bachelor’s degree in quantitative economics and environmental studies.

Caitlin Condon, Raconteur
@catcon3

Caitlin joined StopBadware in 2010 as Raconteur. She works with people and data to spread StopBadware's message and advocate for the organization's core values to end users and prospective partners alike. She develops and edits content for StopBadware's core programs, social media channels, and collaborative publications.

Caitlin holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in Theatre and Communications. Prior to arriving on StopBadware’s doorstep, she worked in communications at Equipois, Inc. in Los Angeles, taught English in South Korea, and globetrotted. She drinks inordinate amounts of coffee and occasionally attempts to wear high heels—without success.

Isaac Meister, Staff Technologist
@imeister

Isaac Meister joined StopBadware in 2010 as a Staff Technologist. He oversees the testing infrastructure StopBadware uses to independently review malware reports from our data providers and the community, and works closely with the team to improve StopBadware’s ability to collect data and analyze malware trends.

Isaac holds an A.B. degree in the Classics from Harvard College. He arrived at StopBadware on the heels of a five-year stint at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, where he was a member of the Center’s IT/Systems Group and acted as a sometime factotum to the Center’s research projects; he also worked for Harvard Law School’s Prof. Charles Nesson as a litigation, instructional, and technology assistant. He is fascinated by all manner of geekly pursuits, including histor(iograph)y, the law of medieval Europe, cooking, and pop culture—and likes to think he puts the “LOL” in classical philology.

Matthew Frost, Software Developer
@frostmatthew

Matthew joined StopBadware in February of 2012, just as he was finishing his B.S. in Software from Western Governors University following several years in hospitality management. Matthew is an Oracle Certified Professional Java Programmer in addition to holding eleven other industry certifications. As StopBadware’s resident software developer, Matthew designs, builds, and maintains the applications and databases that drive StopBadware’s work.

When not developing for StopBadware, Matthew is usually doing so for fun, most often on something related to his hobby of stock trading. Other interests include playing Metallica on the violin and spending far too much time lost in chains of random information on Wikipedia.

Jen Bowen Flynn, Ads Integrity Alliance Program Manager

Jen Bowen Flynn joined the StopBadware team in 2012. She oversees the operations and growth of the Ads Integrity Alliance, StopBadware’s newest initiative aimed at protecting users from bad ads and maintaining trust in the online advertising ecosystem.

Jen most recently worked as a Business and Information Systems Consultant at the President William Jefferson Clinton Foundation where she was responsible for implementing international recruitment and HR processes and software for the Health Access and Climate Initiatives. Prior to her work at the Clinton Foundation, Jen was the National Recruitment Director and Acting Regional Director at City Year, where she led the global recruitment and selection of several thousand volunteer members annually.

Nicolas Bravo, Testing Intern

Nicolas joined the StopBadware team in 2012 as an intern. He examines websites for badware and marks any malicious content for removal.

Nicolas is a sophomore studying computer science and engineering at MIT. He hopes to pursue a graduate degree in artificial intelligence and is an active member of his school’s Robotic Futbol club, developing an AI for a team of soccer-playing robots. When he isn’t studying, Nicolas enjoys reading, biking, playing tennis, and learning foreign languages.
