You may have noticed that our logo has changed to Waterloo Hydrogeologic - A Schlumberger Company. We are pleased to announce that, on January 10, 2005, Waterloo Hydrogeologic, Inc. was purchased by Schlumberger Canada Limited. All of us at Waterloo Hydrogeologic are extremely excited about the new opportunities presented in this arrangement and feel we are better positioned to further expand our technologies and range of services, software, and training. In particular, we anticipate that Schlumberger's R&D expertise, existing technologies, and global presence will present many new opportunities in several key areas:

  1. Services supporting the protection and optimization of groundwater supplies
  2. Services related to water storage and recovery
  3. Expansion of technologies used to support groundwater resources management
  4. Improvements to subsurface flow modeling technologies
  5. Convergence of field data acquisition technologies with data management solutions

The acquisition of Waterloo Hydrogeologic, Inc. is an important step for Schlumberger to grow Water Services. Schlumberger Water Services currently provides comprehensive solutions, with particular focus in groundwater resource assessments, technology development, and data management. Waterloo Hydrogeologic, Inc. will act as Schlumberger Water Services' "Groundwater Center of Excellence", providing hydrogeological expertise and developing innovative software technologies.
