🌱 Could the future of healthcare infrastructure be net zero by design? The UK’s first net zero emissions dialysis centre is under construction at Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool, with Fresenius Medical Care and NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group behind the project. 🏥 Set to open in summer 2027, the 27-station facility will combine solar power, air-source heat pumps and energy-efficient design while increasing capacity for patients. 🌬️ How is Amazon expanding its renewable energy footprint across the UK? Amazon has signed a new 36MW Power Purchase Agreement with Statkraft to support the Mossy Hill wind farm in Shetland, adding to its growing portfolio of more than 50 UK carbon-free energy projects. John Boumphrey, Amazon UK and Ireland Country Manager, says the investment forms part of Amazon’s wider commitment to renewable energy, local communities and the UK’s transition to a lower-carbon economy. ⚡ Once operational, Mossy Hill is expected to generate enough renewable electricity to power the equivalent of more than 57,000 homes each year. 🌍 What role could LNG play in the global energy transition? Shell Low Carbon Solutions is expanding LNG Canada in Kitimat, British Columbia, with Phase 2 expected to double production capacity from 14 million to 28 million tonnes per annum. The expansion comes as Shell works to address emissions across the LNG value chain, including methane reduction, flaring and operational efficiency. Key developments include: → Methane emissions from operationally controlled assets reduced by 78% since 2016 → Routine gas flaring eliminated from operated upstream assets in 2025 → Expanded methane monitoring using sensors, drones, aircraft and satellite data → Continued investment in lower-emissions LNG production technologies Wael Sawan, CEO of Shell, says the expansion reflects the company’s confidence in LNG’s role in providing secure and reliable energy as global demand grows. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/erZAz9y6 #Sustainability #LNG
