Try a game before you buy it

In select regions for select games, you can install and play paid games at no cost for 60 minutes. This lets you check if you like the game before you buy it.

Start a no-cost trial

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Play app Google Play.
  2. Tap Games.
    • A game with a trial available has "Try" next to its title.
  3. Tap the game you want to try and then Try.
  4. Once the download is complete, tap Play.
  5. If you agree to the trial rules, tap Play to start your trial.

Tip: You’ll get a notification when your trial time is almost up.

Buy the game to keep playing

When your trial is over, you can’t play anymore unless you buy it.

  1. On the screen that says your trial ended, tap Buy.
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Once you pay, you can keep playing from where you stopped.

Learn about trial rules

  • One trial only: You can only try a game once. You can’t restart a trial once you start it. If you delete the game and install it again, you can’t start a new trial.
  • Time limits: Every trial lasts for 60 minutes.
  • Game progress: Your game progress is saved to your Play Games Profile. If you buy the game, you can keep playing right where you left off. If you do not buy the game, your progress is still saved based on your account settings. Learn how to manage or delete your Play Games profile data.
