We are also proud to announce that our CTO, Fredrik Bruhn, has been appointed Chairman of the Digital Space Consortium. Together with experts from industry and government agencies, he will help guide the Consortium as it develops the DSI. Fredrik Bruhn, Chairman of the DSC, shared: “I am deeply humbled to chair this effort with the backing of a global player like Mitsubishi Electric. I firmly believe there are many practical ways to approach security, representing a real shift from traditional methods. GRC is an obviously underserved area that is experiencing a rennaisance through #GRCengineering but also questions of category collapse, GRC and run time security tooling is starting to collide which makes sense! As one security leader told me, GRC has been the least sexy part of security for 30 years but all of a sudden it is having a moment. So when I got tasked to pull together some interesting topics and speakers, I knew just the people to call (although unfortunately Ayoub Fandi will be in san fran!). ⚫ Amir Tehrani has been on the battle field from Spotify to Embark Studios and is now leading compliance at Lovable and has has the stories to prove it! ⚫ Lucas de Araújo built the foundations for GRC engineering from the ground up at Klarna ⚫ Louis is the Head of Security at Ashby which has exploded in recent years. Super excited to hear about building at the edge at some of the most iconic companies globally on August 25!

On 1 August 1946, the national airlines of Denmark, Norway and Sweden united around a shared ambition: to build an airline that would connect Scandinavia with the world. Eight decades later, that ambition continues to guide us. Much has changed over the past 80 years. Aviation has evolved. Technology has transformed our industry. The world has become more connected than ever before. And yet, for all those 80 years, our commitment has remained the same. Our commitment has always been about more than aviation. It is about bringing people together, creating opportunities, enabling businesses to grow, supporting trade and tourism, and strengthening the competitiveness of our region. That is the role SAS - Scandinavian Airlines has proudly played for the past eight decades. Today is a moment to reflect on the vision that brought Scandinavia together 80 years ago. On 17 September, we'll celebrate the first flight that turned that vision into reality. As we look ahead after our first 80 years, our focus is firmly on the future. The world still needs more Scandinavia, and we're proud to keep connecting Scandinavia with the world. Mattias Ahnberg har reagerat på dettaMattias Ahnberg har reagerat på dettaDay 8 of the Polar Connect Expedition 2026: Reaching 85°N It has been a week filled with extraordinary experiences in the High Arctic. We have encountered polar bears, seals, tiny polar cod and the remarkable birdlife that survives in this remote and demanding environment. Every day has brought something new and a growing appreciation of how vast, beautiful and fragile the Arctic Ocean is. Today, we are reaching 85°N, the northernmost point of this expedition. From here, Oden will begin turning south towards Spitsbergen. The journey north may be ending, but the work continues. As we make our way back, we will continue mapping the seabed and collecting data along potential routes for Polar Connect. The surveys are revealing a dramatic underwater landscape along the Gakkel Ridge, including submarine volcanoes that we have mapped. The Gakkel Ridge is a volcanically active mid-ocean ridge, hidden beneath the ice-covered Central Arctic Ocean. Understanding this complex geology is essential when assessing suitable routes for a future submarine fibre-optic cable connecting Europe, North America and East Asia through the Arctic. Throughout the expedition, we have also held a continuous series of workshops with cable-laying experts, geologists and Oden’s ice-management specialists. Bringing these different areas of expertise together on board allows us to compare the seabed data with practical experience of cable installation and operations in heavy sea ice. These discussions are helping us understand not only where a cable could be laid, but also how it could be installed, operated and maintained in one of the world’s most challenging environments. Some of the most memorable moments have also been the simplest: standing on deck and watching Oden break through the sea ice, observing the changing Arctic landscape, or following the daily work of the ship’s crew and expedition team. Their expertise, commitment and calm professionalism make everything we do here possible. Reaching 85°N is an important milestone, but Polar Connect is a long-term journey. Every kilometre mapped, every measurement collected and every expert discussion brings us one step closer to identifying the best route for Polar Connect across the Arctic Ocean. What I discovered was surprisingly simple: it made connecting with people so much easier. Instead of endless “Where are you?” texts and trying to coordinate across multiple group chats, people could see where I was, stop by if they were nearby, and we got to spend more time actually talking. So I’m doing it again for Black Hat. If you have my phone number or we’re connected on Signal, WhatsApp, or another messaging app that supports location sharing, you’ll probably see me sharing my location while I’m in Las Vegas. It’s a much better use of my time than juggling conversations across multiple threads trying to explain where I am every 30 minutes. So let the “Where’s Larry?” game begin! I hope our paths cross somewhere in the desert. For the past 30 years IRC has been a big part of my life. Through IRC I've gotten to know some of the best friends I have, business contacts and relationships evolving from casual chatting to life-lasting ones. I've gotten employments through IRC related contacts, I met my fianceé through IRC, I've found business deals, people to employ and so much more using it and thats why I still feel so passionate about working with IRC and allowing others to have the same experience as me. Over the years I have managed to get deeply involved in a lot of aspects concerning IRC. I am currently admistrator of DALnet, IRCnet, EFnet and QuakeNet to name some of the major networks. I've been EU secretary for EFnet, and I'm currently leading the DALnet IRC network. On top of that I'm managing a handful of smaller networks including the one used at work for internal communication. Fun fact: my irssi client is, at the time of this writing, connected to 16 different IRC networks and upwards to 120 different channels.
