How concentrated is email becoming? 👀 Google and Microsoft now handle email for a growing share of the worlds most popular domains. Ten years of DNS data show increasing concentration around the two providers as self-hosted email continues to decline. In this new RIPE Labs article, Artem Berezin explores what this shift could mean for the resilience of email. 🛡️See what ten years of DNS data reveal: https://lnkd.in/eYZyzrBt

Together, let's shape the future of the Internet.
Over ons
Think about how heavily you rely on the Internet. Communication, commerce, administration, entertainment - the Internet plays a key role in all of this and more. We operate in the engine room of the World Wide Web. We provide the IP addresses that we all use to connect to the Internet. We also support the Internet community at large via technical co-ordination and representation in Internet governance. This is a very simplistic account, but more details about the RIPE NCC are available.

It’s exciting to see a new NOG emerge in our service region! 👏 🥳
We have a venue. MDNOG 1 will be held at Digital Park, in the centre of Chisinau. When you start a network operators group from nothing, every "first" matters, and the room you choose says something about what you're building. We wanted the first MDNOG in a working tech campus rather than a hotel ballroom: a place with real conference space, the largest data centre in the country on site, and a five-minute walk to the middle of Chisinau for everyone flying in. Digital Park, Chisinau, str. Mihai Viteazul 15, on 8 and 9 October 2026. Two days. One room. The people who keep Moldova's internet running, plus friends coming in from Romania, Ukraine, the Baltics and further out. If you've been to a NOG before, you know the format: peer-reviewed talks, no sales pitches from the stage, the real conversations happening in the hallway between sessions. If you haven't, this is a good first one to come to. A quick honest word on where we are. The community has grown past 100 members. RIPE NCC, ICANN and the Global NOG Alliance are behind the event. We have sponsors confirmed and more in conversation, and we'll name them over the coming weeks as each one is signed. The call for papers is open now, and we mean this plainly, we would rather have your talk than your registration. If you run a network and you've solved something worth sharing, or broken something worth warning people about, send it in. Half our agenda is still open, and we're reading. More announcements coming soon!

"It's only ARP. It‘'s worked for forty years. How much can it really matter❓" Following up on A Farewell to ARPs, Remco van Mook responds to the questions he got over the article and explains why the answer lies not only in ARP itself, but in the whole “IPv4 layer cake” that has been layered on top of it over the past four decades. 🎂 👀 See what lies beneath ARP: https://lnkd.in/eGVsDemf
