Context labels are used to indicate grammatical or restricted-usage information about definitions.
Usage
Context labels are implemented with the {{label}} (alias {{lb}}) and {{term-label}} (alias {{tlb}}) templates. The data for recognized labels are categorized under Module:labels/data.
Recognized labels may provide automatic categorization of entries. For instance, the label maths will categorize the entry under the topic Category:Mathematics (under the appropriate language).
Common mistakes
Regional labels are meant to indicate where a term is used, not to specify the location of an entity. For instance, the Sphinx in Giza should not be labeled Egypt.
Inline modifiers
The inline modifiers <l:> and <ll:> are used in other templates to insert context labels next to a listed entry, either preceding or following it respectively.
Customization
The display of the templates may be customized in one's common.css stylesheet, acoording to WT:PREFS and WT:CUSTOM.
See the documentation of Module:labels § export.format_processed_labels for the output CSS classes.
